Enter your date of birth
Your exact age, calculated
A free age calculator tells you exactly how old you are — not just in years, but broken down into precise months, days, hours, and seconds since the moment you were born. Instead of doing mental arithmetic, you enter your date of birth and get an accurate, detailed result instantly.
Our online age calculator goes further than the basics. It shows your total age in days, estimates the number of hours you've been alive, and counts down the exact days until your next birthday. These numbers are surprisingly compelling — most people are astonished to discover they've lived over 700,000 hours.
Whether you're filling out a form that requires your precise age, settling a birthday debate, or simply curious — this tool gives you an accurate result in under a second, with a clean interface and nothing standing in the way.
Age calculation sounds simple but has real complexity underneath. The basic idea is to subtract your birth date from today's date. However, months have different lengths — 28, 29, 30, or 31 days — which means you can't just subtract numbers directly and expect an accurate answer.
The correct method works in three steps. First, calculate the full years elapsed. Then calculate the remaining months, adjusting if the current month hasn't yet reached your birth month. Finally, calculate remaining days, accounting for the actual length of the month in between. This is why a reliable age calculator tool produces better results than mental math.
To calculate your total age in days, the tool finds the exact number of elapsed days between your birth date and today, accounting for every month's true length. From there, multiplying by 24 gives total hours, and multiplying hours by 3,600 gives total seconds.
The age calculation formula used by this tool: Age = Current Date − Date of Birth, resolved in years, then months, then days sequentially. For total days: Total Days = (Today − Birthdate) ÷ 86,400,000 ms.
This gives you both the human-readable "34 years, 7 months, 12 days" format and the raw numerical totals used in medical, legal, and insurance contexts.
A leap year adds an extra day — February 29th — to the calendar every four years (with some exceptions for century years). This means that in any given 4-year period, there are 1,461 days instead of the expected 1,460.
For most people, this makes very little difference to the displayed age in years and months. But it has a real impact on total day counts. Someone who is 30 years old will have lived through approximately 7 or 8 leap years, adding 7–8 extra days to their total compared to a naive calculation.
The classic edge case is being born on February 29th. Technically, your birthday only exists on the calendar once every four years. For everyday purposes, most leap day babies celebrate on February 28th or March 1st in non-leap years, depending on personal preference. Our calculator handles this automatically.
Use the calculator above — enter your birthdate and click Calculate. The result shows your total days alive alongside years, months, and hours. Most 30-year-olds are between 10,950 and 11,315 days old.
The calculator currently computes your age as of today. For age on a specific past date, subtract the difference manually — or check back as we expand the tool's feature set.
Differences usually come from how tools handle months with different day counts. Our calculator uses the precise calendar-aware method, accounting for each month's actual length rather than assuming 30-day months.
